Google、Huawei端末へのサービス提供を一部停止 既存端末には影響なし

米Googleが、中国Huaweiとの取り引きを一時停止したと米Reutersが5月19日昼（日本時間）に報じた。米商務省が、Huaweiへの米国からの製品・サービス提供を事実上禁止したためで、Huaweiが今後発売する新規端末で、Androidの更新ができなくなるほか、Google PlayやGmailなどGoogleのサービスが利用できなくなるという。ただ、既存のHuawei端末のユーザーは引き続き、Googleが提供するサービスの利用は可能だとしている。
この件についてGoogle日本法人にコメントを求めたところ、「We are complying with the order and reviewing the implications. For users of our services, Google Play and the security protections from Google Play Protect will continue to function on existing Huawei devices」（われわれはその命令を順守し、影響を検討している。既存のHuawei端末については、Google Play、Google Play Protectによるセキュリティ保護システムは引き続き機能する）との回答があった。
